I was wondering if there might be some interest in a correspondence chess round robin tournament with the following participants:

• Chess Forums (UK)
• Chess Leaders (Bahrain)
• Chess Talk (Canada)
• OzChess (Australia)

If there is enough interest from members, please let me know and I will set it up.

Hey Alex, that is interesting idea, in which client it will be the tournement, and howmany players representing the site got to play? SpaceChess might be interested to play as well .

I will ask SpaceChess as well, good idea.

I imagine the best way for this to work is for there to be a thread for each game where members can vote for a move and every couple of days when the move is due, the move with the most votes gets played.

The move will gets played like where? i have suggestion is to book a room in playchess for our tournement, i think we could manage that, and members not participants could observe as well. what do you think?

its a correspondance game ... playchess isnt the best place to play such games ... lets say the moves will be played on ozchess forum! after each day, each team writes there the move he wants .. and thats how it goes ...

It looks like we are off to the races because members of every forum have now expressed interest. Okay, this is how it will work.

1. Chess Forums (UK)
2. OzChess (Aus)

Will make their moves every Wednesday and Saturday (USA Eastern time, late evening).

1. Chess Talk (Can)
2. Chess Leaders (Bah)
3. Space Chess (Ger)

Will make their moves every Monday and Thursday.

Threads will be created for each game, every country will play every other country (round robin style tournament), so 4 games in all for each forum. On the due date, listed above, the move with the most support will be the one played. Members therefore should state what their move preference is within the thread.

Chess diagrams will be generated and placed in the thread to help everyone keep track.

Chessleaders now has 2 moves to make over the next 24 hours, in these two (2) threads:

Chessleaders (BAH) vs Chess Forums (UK)

Chessleaders (BAH) vs Chess Talk (Canada)
