ChessLeaders Chess Problem Solving Tournament
Rules on December 6: 1. The arbiter for the tournament will post the chess positions to be solved by the competitors in the tournament thread. 2. A player may only make one attempt at each puzzle. Further attempts on the same puzzle will not count for the tournament. 3. Whatever is posted originally counts as the final submission - entries that have been edited by the competitor will not be considered. If a player has made a typo in their submission (only if the move is illegal), this will not disqualify their submission for the competition - they can correct this typo with a post following their previous post. This is the only exception to rule 2. 4. If there is a tie at the end of the tournament, the arbiter will post one additional chess position to solve as a tiebreaker. The players tied for first will be PMed the time that the position is put up. The first to submit a correct solution wins - if a player submits an incorrect solution, then the other player (assuming there are two players in the tie) wins. 5. If a player submits more than one solution to a problem, then only the last submission will be considered unless the puzzle specifically asks for more than one solution. If there is a genuine mistake in the puzzle and a player submits two correct solutions, then that player will be correct. 6. The arbiter may not post the solution to a position until the competition is over. (The arbiter/organiser can specify the conclusion of the competition). 7. The arbiter may only disqualify a poster from the competition in the case of obvious trolling, spamming or abuse. 8. A correct answer will gain one point; an incorrect answer will gain zero points. The player with the most points at the end will win the tournament. The exception is when the arbiter specifies otherwise. If you have any suggested modifications or revisions of these rules, feel free to comment. All players who are interested in participating, please enter in the tournament thread or by PM to waka11 or myself. Antichrist Last edited by Antichrist : 12-06-2009 at 11:25 AM. |
